Freight Forwarder Person or company who arranges the carriage of goods and the associate formalities on behalf of a shipper. The duties of a freight forwarder include booking space on a ship, providing all the necessary documentation and arranging customs clearance. |
Ship Owner Person who owns or has part share in a ship. |
Shipmanager or managing owner Company providing a service to ship owners - either technical and/or crewing and/or commercial. |
Charterer (or cargo principal) Person or company who reserves the entire or part space of a ship for the carriage of cargo from port of loading to port or ports of discharge.
